We rely on the sponsorship of industry companies, along with the participation of individuals from our community, to assist us in helping the San Diego technology community. Our Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from our sponsor companies and industry advisors.

Director, Business Development, Qualcomm Ventures
Houman joined Qualcomm in 2003 and has held a number of roles in engineering, program management, product development, business development. In his early days at Qualcomm, Houman was a program manager in QWBS (QES) building the WhisperNet which was the original platform for Amazon’s Kindle book delivery system. He spent a few years after that in Qualcomm IT managing a software team and building or help building hundreds of applications. Over the last 5 years since he joined Qualcomm Ventures he has been a utilitarian team player and played a key role in several initiatives such as, leading the Qualcomm Robotics Accelerator, building and executing a successful platform for the Qualcomm Venture’s Matchmaking at the group’s annual CEO Summit plus continuing to provide value add to portfolio companies. In his current role, Houman is leading Qualcomm Ventures’ external business development efforts which include building and maintaining key relationships, strategic partnerships and furthering the portfolio company value add program.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, Houman founded a company that developed the first implementation of a laptop in a police vehicle, creating the first paperless police vehicle in California. Houman studied Computational Cognitive Science with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence at UC San Diego and Advanced Project Management at Stanford. Houman has been granted 2 patents at Qualcomm.
