“From Zero to Changing Spinal Surgery in Less Than 5 Years.”

It is our privilege to showcase, Carlsmed®, a startup that entered EvoNexus as a two-person team and built a company that survived challenging world events involving a pandemic, supply chain issues, inflation, high-interest rates, and a tough venture capital market.

Carlsmed recognized an unmet need in orthopedic surgery. The industry had relied on a surgical plan that had not been re-invented in decades and there had been no solutions to sufficiently addressed the continual complications and revision often seen in spinal surgeries. Carlsmed’s core belief was that they could significantly improve patient outcomes in spinal surgery. Mike Cordonnier will be sharing his first-had experience of his journey, including the ups and downs he faced, and where he sees Carlsmed positioning itself in the future of orthopedic surgery.

Our moderator is the attorney and law firm that has been representing Carlsmed almost ever since its inception and has been a partner throughout the journey of this startup. We recommend that you watch the below ABC10 News feature on Carlsmed before the program starts, so that you are up to speed on its technology and value proposition.
