Gary Rayner is the founder, visionary, and CEO of LifeProof. A highly successful serial entrepreneur and designer for more than 17 years, Rayner has started and grown four different USA-based high-tech ventures with products that have grossed more than $150 million in revenues. His successful ventures include DriveCam, Inc., which was recently ranked #30 ‘Top Ranked Venture Backed Company’ by the Wall Street Journal. Rayner has been awarded five international patents and has held leadership roles as Founder, Chairman of the Board, CEO, and Director. Rayner received his Masters of Business Administration (Concentration Marketing) and his Masters of Engineering Science from Queensland University of Technology, one of Australia’s top universities.

Mike Freeman covers technology for the U-T, where his coverage includes Qualcomm, San Diego’s largest publicly traded company. Mike started at the U-T in 1999, covering the golf and action sports industries. Over the years, Mike has reported on commercial real estate, the housing bubble, banking and defense contractors. He also covered the Pinnfund Ponzi scheme and several real estate scams. He is one of the few journalists in the country who researches and writes a special section on executive compensation. Before joining the U-T, Mike was business editor of a daily newspaper in Bend, Ore. He graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
