Program Overview:
Hearts can be broken. They can mend. And, now they can be mapped. UC San Diego, Professor of Medicine and specialist in electrophysiology, Dr. Sanjiv Narayan, teamed with serial medical device entrepreneur Ruchir Sehra to co-found Topera, Inc. and create a 3D heart analysis workstation that has received FDA clearance and attracted nearly $30M in venture funding.

The significance of this novel diagnostic tool is that it shows marked improvement over current state-of-the-art technology by reducing hospital re-admits for further procedures by approximately 60%.

Topera developed and received FDA clearance for RhythmView™ Workstation for mapping catheters and computational analyzers used for the identification and localization of electrical source rhythms shown to sustain arrhythmias such as atrial flutter, atrial tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, and atrial fibrillation. The RhythmView™ Workstation provides a 3D graphical display of the right and left atrial electrical activity allowing abnormal heart rhythms to be detected using RhythmView™ computational analysis.
