GadgetFest is an exciting roundup of the hottest new gadgets on the market. Just in time for the holidays, this event is your chance to hear directly from companies like Kyocera, PC-EPhone, Ericsson and AirPrime as they launch cool new handsets, practical accessories and the latest new devices for road warriors. Plus, Michael Langberg, Personal Technology Editor of the San Jose Mercury News cuts through the hype to give you the straight goods on what’s going to take off and what’s going to sit on the shelves this holiday season.
To add to the fun, we’ve included a tradeshow display during the networking session. Browse through the latest handsets, devices and accessories available in the US and see the unbelievable new 3G gadgets from Japan and Korea.

Keynote Speaker:Michael Langberg, Personal Technology Editor, San Jose Mercury News. The San Jose Mercury News is the daily newspaper for Silicon Valley. Michael writes the “Tech Test Drive” column, reviewing new consumer electronics products and services, appearing every Thursday in the paper’s Personal Technology section. Moderator: Robert Harrington, President and CEO, The T Sector, Inc. Mr. Harrington co-founded the T Sector and has served as President and CEO since it was incorporated in April 2000. The T Sector is a technology news and information company covering the high tech and life science community and integrating a monthly magazine, Web, daily e-mail newsletter and events, serving local leaders, entrepreneurs and investors in San Diego.
Panelists: Skip Speaks, President and COO, Kyocera Wireless Corp. Skip recently joined Kyocera and has more than 30 years of business and engineering experience, including nearly 20 years in the telecommunications industry. Skip will be previewing Kyocera’s new line of 3G wireless phones featuring blue backlit displays (Kyocera 2255 and 2235), and the Kyocera QCP 6035 Smartphone – a Palm handheld computer, CDMA digital wireless phone and wireless modem in one compact device.
Florian Seiche, Vice President and General Manager, Siemens Information and Communication Mobile LLC. Since joining Siemens in 1992, Dr. Florian Seiche has focused on Corporate procurement, business development, and global expansion strategy development as Vice President and General Manager of the North American Mobile Phones Division. Siemens San Diego provides a wide array of innovative technologies to the U.S. market, including GSM and GSM/TDMA mobile phones, GSM mobile network infrastructure, and 2.4 GHz cordless products. Florian will preview the Siemens S40 triband GSM mobile phone.
Jeffrey Belk, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Qualcomm. Jeffrey has been with Qualcomm for 8 years and in the San Diego high tech arena for 18. At Qualcomm he is responsible for global CDMA marketing. Qualcomm develops innovative digital and wireless technologies, to help drive and transform industries. Jeff will demonstrate hot phones and devices from Korea and Japan, including the latest 3G wireless products.
David Meltzer, President and CEO, PC-EPhone, Inc. David has over 10 years of experience in the area of management, sales and marketing. PC-EPhone is the maker of a wireless handheld integrated computing and communication devices, combining the capabilities of a handheld personal computer with full Internet access, a cellular phone and the functionality of a personal digital assistant, all in one device.
Todd Antes, Senior Vice President, Marketing, AirPrime, Inc. Todd is responsible for driving AirPrime’s product strategy, product marketing and marketing communications activities. Todd’s experience includes over 12 years in the wireless communications industry in marketing, business management and engineering roles. AirPrime will be presenting the first CDMA Wireless Handspring ™ Visor ™ Springboard(tm) Module (SB3000 CDMA Wireless Springboard Module) that transforms and Handspring Visor into a versatile wireless data and voice companion by connecting to any North American CDMA cellular/PCS network.
Randy Roberts, Director, Digital Convergence, Nokia. Randy has been at Nokia for 5 years. He started at Nokia as the Business Development Manager with Nokia Mobile Phones. Before working at Nokia, he worked for Datamatic and NEC. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University.
