Healthcare industry domain expert Pooja Goel will host Fireside chat with Omkar Kulkarni who is heading the healthcare innovation accelerator at Cedars Sinai. Omar Kulkarni
Healthcare industry is prime for Innovation. Omar Kulkarni, Director of healthcare innovation accelerator at Cedars Sinai, brings doctors, nurses, pharmacists, entrepreneurs, IT leaders, designers, thought leaders and subject matter experts together to create innovative solutions to complex healthcare problems, ranging from incremental process improvements within a hospital/health system to disruptive & transformative technologies that accelerate the pace of healthcare innovation nationwide.
Omar has managed a large hospital-based performance improvement team, growing the scope and size as the needs of the health system rapidly evolved.
Omar is now managing a hospital-based accelerator, working to develop and mentor start-up companies focused on innovations in healthcare.
Pooja Goel
Pooja Goel is the Group Vice President of DaVita HealthCare Partners California Market.
Pooja is a seasoned healthcare executive with over two decades of experience in the sector. While at DaVita, she has led many innovative projects included the firm’s first dialysis joint venture in India. She has held a number of key operational roles including Director of Strategy responsible for new market and business opportunities as well as process and clinical improvements in more than 1,500 kidney care centers; Regional Operations Director for DaVita’s $60 million multi-facility operation in Southern California; and Vice President of International Strategy and Operations.
Prior to joining DaVita, Pooja was the Director of Operations and Strategic Planning at the University of California Irvine Medical Center, and the Assistant Director of Patient Access Services at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago. She began her healthcare career at Kaiser Permanente. Pooja holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and molecular genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master’s degree in health administration from the Loma Linda University School of Public Health.
