May 15, 2013

The Military SIG Presents…

 in-q-tel logo

In-Q-Tel, a non-profit private organization that adapts and delivers innovative technology solutions to support the mission of the Central Intelligence Agency and broader U.S. Intelligence community. They are currently concentrating in two broad technology areas of interest to the 17 government organizations that comprise the Intelligence community.

* Information and Communications Technologies

* Physical and Biological Technologies

In-Q-Tel makes investments in start-up companies that have developed commercially-focused technologies that will provide strong, near-term advantages to the IC mission. They design their strategic investments to accelerate product development and delivery for ready-soon innovation . They specifically help companies add capabilities needed by their customers in the Intelligence Community. In-Q-Tel effectively leverages its direct investments by attracting a significant amount of private sector funds, often from top-tier venture capital firms to co-invest in their portfolio companies. As a private company with deep ties to the commercial world, In-Q-Tel attracts and builds relationships with technology startups outside the reach of the Intelligence Community. More than 70% of companies that IQT partners with have never before done business with the government. This is a unique opportunity for small startup and even larger San Diego based companies to hear directly from an In-Q-Tel representative on opportunities for technology development and delivery along with investment and partnering.
