Micro-Location and iBeacons: Changing Your World

March 27, 2014

The Mobile Software Development SIG presents…

iBeaconsSIG

With the recent roll out of iBeacon, Apple’s Bluetooth technology for geofencing and micro-location, the CommNexus Mobile Software Development SIG would like to host an event about one of the first major roll out locations, Petco Park. This new technology is enhancing consumer and now the ball park fan experience with its growing momentum since its resent launch this fall. We want to take this opportunity to create awareness for the Petco’s powerful technology infrastructure and create an immersive education experience. Pulling from speakers from the MLB, Qualcomm (The MLB hardware ibeacon provider) and other industry leaders, we want San Diego enthusiasts to learn about and also experience this technology first hand. Some of the topics that will be covered will be: how it works, what it means for hardware companies, mobile apps, payment processing, indoor location tracking, RFID and much more.
