Virtual teams and employees are a worldwide, unstoppable trend; as many as 1.3 billion business professionals will participate in a virtual team over the next few years. Properly managed virtual teams can improve job satisfaction, employee morale, retention, and organizational efficiency. On the other hand, improper management, which is more often the case due to technology limitations and lack of effective virtual management skills, the inverse of the positives quickly appear.

Given that even good teams still only succeed and accomplish the tasks 50% of the time, we have to ask the following:

  • How can we use virtual technology to enhance team effectiveness, talent management and organizational processes?
  • What are the potential repercussions of adopting a virtual team model?
  • What types of communication practices need to be in place for virtual teams to succeed?

Join us at the January 14th MIT Enterprise Forum as we discuss not only different technologies that support virtual work teams, but also begin a conversation on the competent virtual manager and what that means for your business moving forward.
