Yuriy Reznik
Director, InterDigital Communications
Yuriy Reznik is a Director at InterDigital Communications (San Diego, CA), where he leads R&D in multimedia coding and delivery over wireless networks. He also serves as a co-editor of Part 3 of MPEG-DASH standard in MPEG. Previously, he was a co-inventor of RealAudio and RealVideo algorithms for Internet streaming at RealNetworks, Inc. (Seattle, Washington, 1998–2005) and a contributor to several multimedia coding standards, including ITU-T G.718, MPEG-4 ALS, ITU-T H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, ITU-T/MPEG HEVC, and MPEG-C Parts 1, 2, and 4. He has received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Kiev University in 2005. He is a co-author of over 70 journal and conference papers and co-inventor of 12 issued and over 50 pending US patents.
Sital Amin
Product Manager, Web Technologies Group, Qualcomm
Sital Amin is a staff product manager in Qualcomm’s Web Technologies group, where she is working on exposing native device functionality through HTML5 browsers to web developers. Sital is responsible for the company’s web application enablement strategy, along with product planning of adaptive streaming solutions such as DASH, WebGL and HTML5 device APIs.Niels Thorwirth
Executive Director Advanced Technology, Verimatrix, Inc.
Since April 2005 Niels Thorwirth is spearheading Verimatrix’s content security innovation efforts to meet and exceed requirements of content owners and digital TV operators, with activities such as standards participation by e.g. heading the DASH-IF DRM discussion and development of Verimatrix forensic video watermarking technologies. Prior experience includes research activity at the Fraunhofer Society and guiding the technology development at MediaSec, Inc. in Providence, RI and Essen, Germany, from the company’s inception to its acquisition. Mr. Thorwirth has published several international papers and obtained various patents in the field of digital rights management and digital watermarking. He holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science and Business Management from the University of Mannheim, Germany and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France.
Dan Sweeney
Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Solekai Systems Corp.
Dan Sweeney is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Solekai Systems, where he is in charge of all global sales and marketing initiatives. In his role at Solekai, he oversees marketing communications and works with customers to develop and manage relationships in the digital video and smart grid industries. Previously, he was sales and marketing chief at entertainment media enterprise software company Cauldron Solutions (sold to Anystream) and ITV gaming company NTN Buzztime. A telecommunications veteran, Dan also held senior level sales and marketing positions at Gemstar-TV Guide (sold to Macrovision), Cooke Cablevision and Showtime/The Movie Channel, Inc. Hailing from Chicago, Sweeney earned a bachelor of Science degree in communications and marketing from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH.
