Natural User Interface in the Enterprise: Be Gone Battleship Gray Apps!

July 12, 2012

The Mobile Software Development SIG Presents…

End-users worldwide have higher expectations of applications due to the explosion of smart phones.  Users want to naturally interact with their apps by poking, flicking, swiping and gesturing, and even talking “at” their phones. No one wants to read another user guide or memorize what features are behind that tab.  Now you can save trees and brain cells by making apps better with a “natural-user interface” (NUI).  Making apps intuitive within their environment allows us to target real world scenarios and solutions that meet a full scale of business needs.

Companies across all industries are embracing NUI to increase customer interaction, internal innovation, collaboration and productivity while also differentiating themselves from their competitors.  Experts in their field, these companies seek to obtain business goals by utilizing technology which exudes elegance and beauty.  In doing so, their apps are adopted, embraced and used frequently.  These companies care about their consumers enough to provide a higher level perception of quality and functionality, and ultimately, their brand is elevated.

Touch enabled new apps years ago, and now gesture and voice are opening new doors. This discussion will walk through several use cases of how NUI has enabled new possibilities. These use cases will manifest into a few software demonstrations of data visualization apps as well as gesture and voice apps.  Attendees will have an opportunity to interact with the demo platform after the presentation as well as speak to leading experts in natural-user interface design and development.
