San Diego Region Cyber Cluster

February 19, 2013

The Military and Security SIGs Present…

Cyber security, that which business and individuals depend on to protect e-commerce and personal privacy has become vital to the military as the dependence on the internet for communications and command and control. Our region and key industry clusters have recognized the importance of this technology and the potential value to the regional economic growth. As a consequence, the region has initiated a number of initiatives such as Securing our eCity and the Cyber Security Institute of San Diego and has undertaken an initiative to identify those local enterprises that are participating in this vital marketplace.

As a consequence, the region has initiated a number of initiatives such as Securing our eCity and the Cyber Security Institute of San Diego and has undertaken an initiative to identify those local enterprises that are participating in this vital marketplace. This event will introduce you to the cluster initiative and encourage your involvement in expanding the impact and leveraging the value to the region and your enterprise. This cluster initiative is a cooperative effort led by the Cluster Working Group of the Securing our eCity initiative and the San Diego Advanced Defense Technology Cluster, a small business contract managed by the SDSU Research Foundation. Tonight, Mr. Lou Kelly, Chairman, San Diego Regional Innovation Cluster, will introduce the cluster and it’s mission and objectives and then Mr. Bill Unrue, Principal, GTD Acquisitions will moderate a panel comprised of three of the initial enterprises registered in the cluster. They are ai-one, Sentek Global and Accord Solutions. Each will describe their firm and products as well as the value they anticipate from participation in the cluster.

This initiative is important to CommNexus members not only to be aware of the implications of the threats and technology solutions but also to participate as we strengthen the potential value of cyber security in the products and services of our regional enterprises.
