Austin Neudecker – Head of Growth at Rev
Austin Neudecker has been an entrepreneur, investor, and mentor for startups. Currently, he heads Growth at Rev.com, a startup company that creates translation, transcription, and caption services using an army of 6,000 distributed workers across the world.
After double majoring at MIT and launching his first company as a student, he quickly climbed the ranks at a management consulting firm, advising Fortune 50 companies on key strategic decisions. After business school and winning the international venture capital investment competition, Austin became a young venture capitalist at Foundation Capital and Genacast Ventures. He analyzed ~2,000 businesses per year, advised entrepreneurs and structured financing. He set out to found a series of startups (AdhereTech, Yealthy, Membright), went through the prestigious Y Combinator program, raised several rounds of venture financing, and mentored at many top startup accelerators (TechStars, DreamIt) in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, San Fran and San Diego.
Since returning to San Diego, Neudecker works tirelessly to improve the tech startup ecosystem. He founded Startup San Diego, an organization created by startup entrepreneurs to promote collaboration among the startup community and stakeholders. Neudecker has also started a number of programs for the community (including mentor hours, domain experts, and Startup Week). He was instrumental in transforming EvoNexus into an accelerator and is currently the Mentor-in-Residence at Evo’s downtown location.
Austin will be discussing:
Fundraising is top-of-mind for entrepreneurs these days. Should it be?? When are you ready for external funding? How does financing work? What are my options? Who should I target? What strategies actually work? What’s the REAL story about the San Diego funding environment?
In this series of talks, Austin will provide deeper dives into each of these questions. Austin is a serial entrepreneur that has raised several rounds, a Venture Capitalists at two prestigious firms, and even won the international Venture Capital Investment Competition. His lively talks tend to encourage audience participations, so come with real problems & questions.
