To Stream or Not to Stream – THAT is the Question: Delivering High Quality Mobile and OTT Video Experiences for Consumers
June 23, 2016
Consumers are rapidly increasing their consumption of long form video content on Mobile and OTT platforms, which is driving a broad spectrum of companies to enter this still-nascent market. As consumers’ sophistication and quality-of-experience expectations increase, factors such as encode/delivery formats, client player technologies, network congestion and ad tech make it challenging to continuously deliver a high quality, profitable video consumer experience on digital platforms. Large media companies, broadcasters and sports content owners are driving innovations in implementation and technology to make these complexities opaque to the masses while delivering a quality experience they demand. B2C and B2B companies building video delivery infrastructure solutions and/or consumer facing companies delivering video to consumers can leverage these innovative techniques and strategies to deliver successful products at scale.
A distinguished and diverse panel of experts, who have ‘been in the trenches’ will discuss the challenges and solutions around crafting and delivering a high quality video experience to consumers. The discussion will cover range of topics including current user trends in mobile and OTT, clever and intelligent choices for server architecture and implementations, content acquisition workflows, delivery optimization over mobile networks to devices and playback on those devices, dynamic ad insertion/replacement, content encryption/DRM, and what it takes to deliver all this at massive scale.
