Marvell has been a giant in the System on a Chip (SoC) industry for 2D printing for quite some time. Seeing that the 3D printing industry is set to explode, they plan on being a giant for 3D printing SoC’s as well.

Marvell Semiconductor wished to showcase their new 3D-printer-optimized 88PA6270 System on a Chip (SoC) at CES 2016, but the industry lacked a sophisticated software solution that could show off what the chip could do.

So… They partnered with AstroPrint to solve this problem… Which we did… In record time! The demo went incredibly well and now we are set to use this technology to catapult AstroPrint forward as the de facto OS for the 3D printing industry.

AstroPrint Develops New Products for Marvell with KinomaJS as Driving Force, Highlighted at CES 2016

New funding round:

In order to execute on the partnership interests that have been sparked by working with Marvell we need to ramp up business development and supercharge the engineering team. To do this, we are opening a “bridge” round of $500k.

In addition, we are opening conversations for a larger round (Seed+/Series A). For this larger round, we’ll take our time to find a value-add VC to lead.

If you would like to know more about either of these rounds, just reply to this email to set up a call.

Astro-Spain is ramping up:

Our development team in Malaga (Spain) knocked it out of the park with the Marvell project, and in record time. We couldn’t be happier with how the team worked together under extreme time constraints. So, we’re scaling up the Malaga team with 2 new hires this month and more planned for the Spring.

As always, thank you to all our investors, mentors, and advisors (formal and informal) for being part of this awesome world changing technology.Namaste,
Drew Taylor
