San Diego StartUp Adapts Google Glass to Help the Blind

A San Diego startup is adapting Google Glass into a tool for the blind that’s designed to help the visually-impaired navigate their daily lives.

Part streaming-video service, part high-tech call center, Aira is essentially a network of visual interpreters. The startup allows a blind user wearing Google Glass to transmit live video to a remote agent, who can then provide guidance over the phone.
