
John Elliott
Global Managing Director, Digital Platforms, Accenture Digital
John runs Accenture’s Digital Platforms business where he is responsible for platforms and innovation to enable digital transformation at scale. In addition to managing a large, multi-site, international team John is focused on innovation through partnering, a cornerstone of Accenture Digital’s strategy to foster open ecosystems in the digital space. John is a member of Accenture’s Digital Leadership Team, Technology Leadership Council and Labs Advisory Board.
John joined Accenture in January 2011 with extensive product and platform development experience including at Qualcomm, Openwave, and Verizon. At Qualcomm, John led an emerging products team to exploit potentially disruptive innovations within Qualcomm’s chipset division (QCT). Areas of focus included M2M (IoT), location-based services, broadcast, contactless payments, biometrics, and high- speed peripheral connectivity. Prior to QCT John led product management for Qualcomm MediaFLO Technologies through launch with first customers Verizon and AT&T leading to a “Best in Show” award at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show.
Prior to Qualcomm, John was Vice President of Product Management at 724 Solutions. 724 provided mobile internet infrastructure and interactive multimedia applications to mobile network operators worldwide. Prior to 724 John worked for Openwave, where he was responsible for service provider applications including Intermail, the leading internet messaging service at Broadband service providers, mobile email including Sha-mail the World’s first mobile picture messaging service at J-Phone (now Softbank), and Onebox, a unified messaging ASP with over 1M subscribers. Prior to Openwave, John worked at Verizon, where he held roles in product development, operations, and product management including a key role in the launch of Verizon’s first bundle of wireless, broadband, local and long-distance services.
John is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served from 1986 to 1991 in intelligence and reconnaissance roles including with the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCCENT) during the Gulf War. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, is a member of the Board of Directors for technology incubator EvoNexus, a seed investor and an advisor to start-ups.
