Our BoardCommNexus is a non-profit organization that is member supported. We rely on the sponsorship of industry companies, along with the participation of individuals from our community, to assist us in helping the San Diego technology community. Our Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from our sponsor companies and industry advisors.

Trade Commissioner, Consulate of Canada
Mario has 11 years of R&D experience working for Ericsson (former General Electric and Qualcomm divisions) in the areas of TDMA and CDMA communications technologies, where he was involved in the design of private radio systems, cable modem broadband telecommunications, and wireless infrastructure systems. He also worked for the Banzai Research Institute in the design and implementation of fully autonomous unmanned ground vehicles for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
Mario currently holds the position of Trade Commissioner at the Consulate of Canada in San Diego, where he represents innovation, science, and technology for the ICT and Ocean Tech sectors, as well as holding Board Director positions of organizations like EvoNexus, NovaComm, UCI Applied Innovation, The Maritime Alliance, and ThinkTank Innovation.
Mario earned a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech specialized in Satellite Communications, a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University, and 6 years of graduate studies in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica in Barcelona. He is also a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer, Coast Guard licensed Master Captain.
