Mike Knowles is the president of Cubic Mission and Performance Solutions and senior vice president of Cubic Corporation. In this role, he has responsibility for the strategic direction and business management of the company’s C4ISR and training solutions in the global defense and commercial markets.
Knowles has more than 25 years of experience in the aerospace, defense, military and commercial training fields having served in various technical, program and executive management roles throughout his career.
Before joining Cubic, he served as the senior director of Air Transport and Mission Solutions for Rockwell Collins where he was responsible for the company’s simulation and training business for the fixed wing commercial, military air transport and mission aircraft markets.
Knowles is a retired Navy Commander having served as a Naval Flight Officer on the EC-130 and E-6 aircraft. Upon graduation from the Naval Test Pilot school and tour at Naval Force Aircraft Test Squadron, he was selected for Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer. Mr. Knowles retired from the Navy having completed his career in the Naval Reserve with multiple units supporting programs throughout the Naval Air Systems Command.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the United States Naval Academy. He earned a master’s of Business Administration degree from George Mason University and a master’s of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the United States Naval Postgraduate School. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Chapter of the NDIA and is an active member of the NTSA.
