Senior Product Manager, Qualcomm
Wei Zhao is a senior product manager at Qualcomm Technologies Incorporated, responsible for developing product roadmaps and definition, building business strategy, driving top line and bottom line growth and managing customer relationships. In particular, he manages power and audio products to provide system solutions for smartphones, compute platforms and IoT applications. He travels globally to meet customers and partners, spearheads product development by coordinating with various functional teams. Earlier at Qualcomm, he was a project lead in system engineering team. Since joining Qualcomm, his work covers a number of areas including Quick Charge, wireless charging, battery management and fuel gauging, haptics, audio codec, smart amplifier, voice activation, voice UI, screen sound, etc.
Dr. Zhao received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Maryland College Park under the Dean’s Ann G. Wylie dissertation fellowship. He has published over a dozen scholarly papers on International journals and conferences and has been invited to multiple talks. He has been an expert reviewer for several top journals and conferences in power management and energy harvesting. He also received the Best Poster Award at International Semiconductor Devices Research Symposium. Prior to his Ph.D., he graduated with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China, where he was a recipient of National Scholarship, among other awards. He is fluent in both English and Chinese Mandarin.
