John is a Senior Manager of Digital Innovation Strategy at the Royal Bank of Canada where his role encompasses contractual negotiations of emerging technology as well the establishment of academic and corporate partnerships .Royal Bank is a leading Canadian financial institution with 85,000 employees and 2019 revenue in excess of $45B. A lawyer by trade, John joined the RBC in 2016 where he became part of their Solution Acceleration and Innovation Team. He has significant experience with bringing companies from early-stage Proof of Concepts to production implementation within bank from an onboarding and legal perspective, as well as navigating the complexities of joint initiatives with other multinational companies.

Prior to joining the bank, John has experience working both in litigation and for technology start-ups. John holds a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University as well as a Juris Doctor from University of Windsor. He was called to the Bar in 2015 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

A Torontonian for most of his professional career, John has recently moved to San Diego to ensure close collaboration between EvoNexus and RBC as a Founding Sponsor of the EvoNexus Silicon Valley FinTech Incubator.
