Head of Global Network Edge, Google / Fmr. Vice President of Product Strategy & Operations, Verizon
Sanyogita Shamsunder is the Head of Global Network Edge at Google as well as a Board Director with 20+ years of experience, leveraging technology and innovation to scale growth in start-ups to Fortune 500 companies like Verizon, Lucent-Bell Labs and start-ups.
Previous to joining Google, Sanyogita was the Vice President of Product Strategy and Operations at Verizon. In this role, she leads the new product, platform strategy, product security and operations team for the $240B consumer wireless, enterprise technology leader Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ). As the Vice President, she sets the strategy and incubates new technology programs, and leads product security for all of Verizon products. She serves as an advisor to various startups that engage through the 5G labs and other programs. She manages a budget of high double digit $M and leads a team of 150+ technology, security, and operations professionals.
Previously, she led Verizon’s early 5G network technology development and trials, launched the first 4G devices as well as led various spectrum initiatives in collaboration with government and industry groups. Sanyogita’s work experience spans all areas of the wireless business, including silicon, network technology development, marketing, planning and strategy for both enterprise and small businesses.
Sanyogita received her MBA from the Wharton School and Ph.D in electrical engineering and math from the University of Virginia. She brings her deep knowledge and experience to all enterprise and technology management and operations.
