Rob Douglas, former President and Chief Operating Officer of Resmed Inc., in San Diego, California has over 30 years of experience in operations and marketing for high-tech medical device and E-commerce solution sector leaders. Resmed Inc. is a global medical device and software applications company specializing in cloud-connected devices in to diagnose, treat and manage respiratory disorders and improve care in out-of-hospital settings. It is listed on the NYSE and the Australian Stock Exchange, with a market cap of ≈ U.S. $23B. Earlier, he was Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific & Global Supply Chain leading Asia Pacific sales and sales operations in Japan, Australia, China, India, Middle East, North Africa and ASEAN countries. Mr. Douglas joined Resmed Inc. as Vice President of Corporate Marketing becoming Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer Sydney.
Previously, he was General Manager of Strategy and New Business and a member of the Executive Management Team at Keycorp Ltd., an electronic commerce company developing and marketing a range of products for secure electronic financial transactions, based in Sydney, Australia. Mr. Douglas began his career with Telectronics Pty. Ltd. an Australian medical electronics company that designed, manufactured, and globally marketed implantable cardiac pacemakers and implantable defibrillators based in Sydney.
Currently, Mr. Douglas serves on the Board of Directors of Globus Medical, Inc. (NYSE:GMED), and is a member of their Audit Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors of XCMR, a start-up in biosecurity innovation incorporating UVC into wearable, portable and stationary devices to prevent the transmission of infectious disease.
Formerly, Mr. Douglas was a member of the Board of Directors of Continence Control Systems International and its predecessor company Colocare Ltd. He also served on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation and was a member of its Executive Committee. He is a past Director of the Australian Science Media Center and former member of the Business Council of Australia.
Mr. Douglas earned an MBA from Macquarie University, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with first-class honors and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences from the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
