About Allevalux:
Allevalux is developing a new class of neuro-optimized architectural lighting fixtures for healthcare, workplace, and other built environments. Our products combine lighting science, refined design, and practical manufacturability to create premium luminaires that support comfort, calm, and sensory ease. We are looking for a part-time Industrial / Mechanical Designer with experience in architectural luminaire design to help us develop our next-generation light fixtures. This role has the potential to grow into a full-time position as the company expands.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop architectural lighting fixtures, including ceiling panels, recessed linear fixtures, downlights, pendants, cylinders, and portable/floor lamps
  • Create 3D CAD models and assemblies for fixture housings, diffusers, lenses, brackets, driver compartments, PCB placement, mounting systems, and wiring access
  • Prepare manufacturer-ready documentation, including: 2D technical drawings; part and assembly drawings; exploded views; BOMs; material and finish specifications; prototype-ready files
  • Work with Allevalux’s engineering and manufacturing partners to make sure designs are practical, buildable, serviceable, and cost-conscious
  • Support design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly across sheet metal, aluminum extrusion, CNC, 3D printing, and other fabrication methods
  • Help create a cohesive product family that feels premium, calm, architectural, and aligned with the Allevalux brand
  • Revise designs based on prototype feedback, manufacturer input, and technical constraints

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with architectural lighting fixtures or luminaires
  • Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, Creo, or similar
  • Ability to create clear technical drawings and manufacturer-ready design packages
  • Basic understanding of: sheet metal; aluminum extrusion; fasteners and brackets; tolerances; diffusers and lenses; LED fixture layout; driver placement; thermal considerations; wiring access and serviceability
