Michael J. Hennessy, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon in San Diego. His professional training started with a surgical internship at Harvard Surgical Service Boston City Hospital in 1970. From there he completed his general surgery residency at the same hospital, and then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Tufts University School of Medicine. He has licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the state of Minnesota, the state of California, and, most recently, the state of Montana. He has been a part of 12 professional associations from 1979 to 1996. In California, Dr. Hennessy held roles at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center (1979-1996), Donald N. Sharp Memorial Hospital (1979-1996), Children’s Hospital and Health Center (1979-1996), and the University of California at San Diego (1980-1996). In Montana, he held roles at Benefis Healthcare (1996-2009) and Great Falls Clinic Medical Center (2005-2009). Dr. Hennessy served in the Naval Regional Medical Center in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery (1977-1978).
He has also been published in 26 professional reports throughout the years. Dr. Hennessy received his Bachelor of Science at Saint John’s University in 1966. He also received a Bachelor of Science from University of Minnesota in 1968. Then, Dr. Hennessy received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1970.
In his free time, Dr. Hennessy enjoys aviation and has a commercial license with instrument and multiengine ratings. He participates in aerobatic competitions, and enjoys woodworking, photography, and mountain climbing.
