CEO, Obsidian Sensors
John Hong (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA, in 1987, both in electrical engineering. He has had technology development and management roles with Rockwell, Acelo Semiconductor, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Qualcomm. He is currently the CEO of Obsidian Sensors, San Diego, CA, USA, and also an Adjunct Professor with UCSD ECE Department, La Jolla, CA, USA. Dr. Hong is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and was a Topical Editor of the journal Optics Letters.
