Co-Founder & CEO, DeepWater Exploration
Jiajer Ho founded DeepWater Exploration (DWE) out of a college dorm room, driven by a frustration with the high cost and limited accessibility of subsea sensor technology. What began as a project to create the exploreHD—a compact, high-performance camera—has evolved into a global operation with thousands of units deployed in the field. Today, DWE technology powers everything from surface autonomous vehicles to work-class ROVs operating at full ocean depth.
Under Jiajer’s leadership, DWE has moved beyond standard video feeds to develop the “eyes” for the next generation of autonomous subsea fleets. The company specializes in high-speed, distortion-free optics and real-time 3D stereo vision designed to withstand the extreme pressures of 11,000 meters. By bridging the gap between hardware and perception, DWE is helping subsea systems move past simple observation toward true autonomous understanding, navigation, and mapping of the world’s oceans.
Jaijer received his Bachelors degree from UC San Diego in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
