Mike Benchimol is a technology and product developer with expertise integrating optics, fluidics, and nanotechnology with biological systems, and transforming early-stage concepts into marketed products.
Mike served as VP of Research & Development at Oxford Nanoimaging (ONI), where he led the development of an ecosystem of hardware, software, and bioware products for super-resolution microscopy. The company expanded the market for this traditionally complex technology by creating end-to-end automated workflows and validated assays leveraging machine learning for the characterization of lipid nanoparticles and exosomes.
Prior to ONI, Mike served as Senior Director of Engineering at NanoCellect Biomedical, where he led development of microfluidic based cell sorters and single cell dispensing technology. Earlier in his career, he co-founded Sonrgy, Inc., pioneering ultrasound-responsive nanocarriers for safer and more effective cancer treatment.
Mike has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from UCSD on ultrasound-responsive particles for cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. He holds an MS in Photonics from UCSD and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University.
