Jim Matteo founded Bird Rock Systems on the waves in 2003 at one of his favorite surf spots, Bird Rock. Since inception, Jim has built a technology company with consistent growth (10 times on the INC5000) and continues to bring tremendous value to his customers by creating a world class company culture. In 2012, Jim was awarded the EO- San Diego, Entrepreneur of the Year Award. His vision to provide ‘Best in Class’ technical solutions and customer services is rooted from his company’s core values. In addition to Bird Rock, Jim is a partner in CSCI, a member of Nufund angel investment group, and author of Turbo Charge Your Team (coming out this summer).
Jeremy Rouse, vCISO, Senior Security Architect, vCO, Bird Rock Systems
Jeremy Rouse has 25 years of Information Technology experience and has helped organizations of all sizes develop, design, mature, and implement security and compliance programs. Jeremy has been the Virtual CISO, Security Architect, and Compliance Officer for numerous organizations.
His experience includes conducting security assessments, compliance audits and readiness, developing strategic incident response plans, developing security roadmaps, assembling and leading teams of security professionals, developing cyber security service programs for MSPs, and public speaking events.
Jeremy’s approach to security is to understand his client’s business operations and align security to support business success. He is partnered and certified with numerous Security vendors and conducts continuous training on industry solutions and Innovations.
He designs, builds, and implements secure business strategies to safeguard data centers, cloud environments, sensitive data, and diverse environments. Some of his industry verticals include Aerospace and Defense, Financial Services, Entertainment, Healthcare, Hospitality and Leisure, Insurance, Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences, Real Estate, Technology & Telecommunications, gaming, ecommerce, and more.
He continues to build successful Cyber and Information Security programs that evolve year over year. He stays current and partners at all levels of the business to adapt each technology program to a modern secure workforce.
He mentors junior CISO’s, Clients, struggling security teams, executives, and board of directors.
