Baxter Acquires toSense, a Non-Invasive Patient Monitoring Company

toSense™, an EvoNexus San Diego graduate, was recently acquired by Baxter International. toSense™ is a medtech company focused on developing sensors and software for broad applications in non-invasive patient monitoring. toSense™ brings technology and expertise that is expected to be instrumental in Baxter’s development and launch of leading-edge monitoring innovations.

toSense™ created the CoVa™ Monitoring System, featuring a novel body-worn Sensor for at-home patients with chronic illnesses, such as congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hypertension, and renal failure. The CoVa™ Monitoring System consists of three main components: a necklace sensor, gateway, and web-based system. With the development of this system, the company strives to make at-home monitoring of cardiopulmonary parameters for heart failure patients as simple as glucose monitoring for diabetics.

This latest acquisition marks EvoNexus’ 28th successful acquisition of a portfolio company. For more information about toSense™, visit our portfolio company page or the toSense™ website
