Sateliot and IoT Squared Announce Landmark Partnership at Smart City Expo World Congress 2025
EvoNexus is proud to spotlight a major milestone for our alumni company Sateliot, which has entered a landmark partnership with Saudi Arabia–based IoT Squared to deploy the Kingdom’s first 5G-IoT Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) service. Announced at SCEWC25, the collaboration positions Saudi Arabia at the forefront of satellite-enabled digital infrastructure while validating the long-term vision that drove Sateliot’s early research and development.

“SatelIoT, admitted to the EvoNexus / Qualcomm 5G/AI incubator program in July 2021, had a mission to create a unique LEO satellite constellation connecting billions of 5G IoT devices from space. The goal of Jaume Sanpera and his fearless team was bold, to say the least, especially for a startup. Additionally, at the time the world was in the midst of a pandemic. Undeterred, they forged on and found a way to achieve their first 5G LEO launch from California aboard a SpaceX Falcon. Fast forward, the SatelIoT constellation is well underway and securing commercial customers from around the world. History has shown that some of the most successful technology-based companies start when times are toughest.”
The agreement will extend standardized 5G IoT connectivity into remote and underserved regions across the Kingdom. By integrating Sateliot’s low-Earth-orbit satellite constellation with IoT Squared’s national platform, the partnership supports key sectors such as logistics, energy, environmental monitoring, and agriculture. It directly advances Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which prioritizes digital transformation, ubiquitous connectivity, and diversification of the national technology ecosystem.
For Sateliot, the partnership represents the fulfillment of an idea that originated when the company joined the EvoNexus / Qualcomm 5G and AI Incubator in 2021. At that time, the company proposed a bold technical architecture: a satellite-based extension of the 5G standard that would allow terrestrial devices to communicate from any location on Earth without custom hardware. The founders pursued this plan during the most constrained period of the global pandemic, navigating supply chain disruptions and unprecedented operational challenges. That persistence led to the company’s first 5G LEO launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon rocket in California, an inflection point that enabled the constellation now under active deployment.
The collaboration with IoT Squared now accelerates the scale and reach of Sateliot’s technology. It supports ecosystem expansion around 5G NTN standards, bridges the digital divide across rural regions, and strengthens the infrastructure required for next-generation services in the Middle East.
